Quality Health Staff run for Ashgate Hospice – in the dark!
A team of nine Quality Health staff successfully completed a 10k run in aid of Ashgate Hospice, based in Derbyshire, on 20 September. And it wasn’t just any old 10k. Chatsworth by Torchlight is a night time run and so all runners must wear head torches and be prepared for some challenging hills (both up and down). Luckily we were blessed with dry weather and Chatsworth House looked spectacular as the hundreds of runners made their way around the course.
We were thrilled to take part and even more happy that everyone made it round in one piece. Some very respectable times were achieved as well.
One of our intrepid runners, Lorraine, said after the event:
A unique and exhilarating experience, running through fields and woods in the dark by torchlight…..yes, really! Surrounded by stunning scenery and shadowed by the magnificent Chatsworth House. Great camaraderie and an amazing sense of achievement, all for such a worthy and essential local charity. I’ll definitely be entering next year!
